SOFTWARE INSTALLATION
Software Installation:
If you have just purchased, or are considering purchasing some new software for you computer and you aren’t sure whether it will work or how to install it, then we can help. We offer a software installation service that will take the confusion and stress out of getting your new software up and running on your computer.
What this involves:
- Giving us a call or sending us an email to outline what the software is and your requirements.
- Checking your computer to make sure that your new software is compatible. If you require any upgrades to your computer in order to make the software work we'll advise you on this.
- Perform the installation at-home if possible.
- Install your new software and register it with the manufacturer to activate your warranty.
- Install any available updates and patches for your software.
Operating System Upgrade:
We also offer a Windows or Mac operating system upgrade service. If you have an older computer the chances are that you're missing out on the latest features of a new operating system. With our Operating System Installation service we'll check to see if your computer could benefit from a new operating system and then install and configure it for you.
What this involves:
- Giving us a call or sending us an email to outline your requirements and to discuss different upgrade options.
- Check your computer to see if it is compatible with the new operating system. If your computer isn’t up to it we can discuss your options.
- Recommend any upgrades required to install the new operating system. We can fit these for you if you decide to buy the components.
- Arrange for your computer to be collected and the upgrade carried out.
- Install your new operating system and set up your user accounts and other settings.
Fresh Installation:
We also offer an operating system fresh installation service. For example, if Windows does start successfully but constantly crashes in different situations, a clean installation is sometimes quicker than troubleshooting all of those different errors (and your new installation is more likely to work perfectly). Over time computer systems become “cluttered” with file system debris and unnecessary components. Whether you experience actual file system corruption or just general performance degradation, an occasional OS reinstall will do your system good. It is however important to ensure that all your files are backed up before hand so that you don’t loose any essential data.
What this involves:
- Giving us a call or sending us an email to outline and discuss the problem you are having.
- Arrange for your computer to be collected.
- Installing a fresh copy of the operating system that came with your computer. It is therefore important that you have the original disks that came with it.
- Ensure that all drivers and upgrades are installed and up-to-date.
